Flywheels of exercise bikes come in different weights. Minimum weight starts from 8kg, increases to 15 kg and then 20kg, 22kg or even 24 kg. The heavier flywheel the harder the riders have to struggle to pedal. Usually, a heavy weighted flywheel will make riders have the same feeling as riding a regular bike on the road. So when it comes to the question which flywheel should you choose: 8kg, or 24 kg? It depends on your purpose of training. For some people 8kg is enough if they just want to have a bike for light exercise.
With a 15kg flywheel a normal stationary bike provides multi – function exercise which fits most for every member in the family.
