Winter comes with strong wind, rain , cold and humid weather. Roads covered with snow and wet. Therefore, it brings the harder conditions for commuting and riding. However, cycling in winter conditions is still a joyful activity when you dress in the correct way, additionally master the gear changing skills .

 Certainly, choosing the right clothing and accessories, the bad weather conditions no longer are challenges

For your body

Base layer

Once comes the point to choose the winter clothing for your body. Most importantly, choosing the right base layer is a key factor that impacts on your riding day. Depending on weather conditions if it is a light or heavy winter day, you can consider choosing the different  types of base layers.

  • Lightweight
  • Midweight
  • Heavyweight

All 3 types of base layers are made from multi-stretch fabric, therefore it will ensure you to be comfortable while cycling, keep you warm, dry  and and breathable.

Note : Be sure you choose the right one, for example the lightweight base layer is not suitable on a heavy winter day. As It is not thick enough to protect you from cold weather.

Outer layer

Outer layers specifically made from durable materials, .They are windproof , water -resistant or water proof. Above all, They help to protect you to maximum from bad weather condition. .And they also have 2 types

  • without polyester pads 
  • with  polyester pads

They are both similar lightweight, waterproof and windproof. Normally outer layers with pads keep you warmer.

Protect your head with a balaclava hat and helmet.

Balaclava hat is a special design winter cap. It covers all the head and neck with an opening for face and eyes. Materials used to make cap are thin, breathable and can fit well under your helmet. The cap design will keep you warm, and not be effected by cold from outside.

Helmets will keep you safe as always.

A thermal, screen touch gloves keep you warm

It could be a good choice for you as those gloves offer you a warm and flexible environment . So, your finger can move and holding handle bars firmly ,without any difficulty.

Keep your feet warm in a comfort shoes

Comfortable warm shoes which fit your feet will make your whole body warm. A warm , thermal , anti proof water shoes would be a good choice. Because ,if your feet get cold and wet, as a result your body will quickly lose temperature .

Meanwhile, be sure that you master the gear changing. You need to practice to change and use correct gear in different  bad road conditions. To keep you safe.
