When the Achilles tendon is injured or damaged, it can cause pain and stiffness in the back of the heel
Achilles tendonitis is often related to a partial or almost complete rupture of the tendon. It has other name as Achilles tendon rupture. With partial tendon rupture, a person may experiences the mild pain and tenderness when he walking or standing on tiptoes. But in severe cases like full tendon rupture the person can experience the sharp pain. A swollen, red, inflamed tendon is visible.
Many people describe the pain of a tendon rupture is a sharp, hot, and aching sensation. That is typically located at the site of the injured tendon. The acute pain usually occurs following a sudden strain or tear of the tendon. This sharp pain is due to the tissue being stretched to the point of injury. The sharp pain usually occurs when performing flexion and stretching movements at the site of the injury.
Treatments of Achilles tendinitis
Quickly apply ice to the tendon area as soon as possible to reduce the pain, inflammation. This will help the tendon recover faster. You can use an ice pack, or an ice bag to apply the ice. Make sure to use as much of the ice as you can. And hold the ice pack or ice bag on the injured area for 10 minutes until the pain goes away. Repeat as often as needed.
Massage is a good method of treatment. That uses pressure to stimulate the body’s soft tissues to improve blood and lymph flow. This method will aid in pain relief, and increase the body’s ability to heal itself. By applying slight rub to the tendon area. This will improves blood and lymph flow to the area to help reducing pain and swelling. It also increases the body’s ability to heal itself, which can help speed the recovery process.
Wearing Achilles tendonitis support products
Achilles tendonitis occurs when someone overuses or puts too much stress on the tendon. There are some orthotics methods that can help to treat the problem of inflammation or tissue degeneration. Wearing a brace will reduce symptoms of pain and ease pressure and swelling on the affected area.
Some other methods like using achilles wraps or ankle support are also useful methods. It protects the ankle from direct pressures on its surface, avoiding the rub between damaged tendon and shoes.
Depending on the seriousness of injury. Wearing night splints or boot support, or compression shock will support movement of foot, minimize the stress on tendon.
Give yourself a rest to recover from this injury. Avoid moving too much and put stress on leg will help time of heeling shorter
People who get pain tendon because of medical conditions please contact your doctor to have proper diagnosis and better care.
Cyclists and Achilles tendinitis
Cyclists also need to be careful of overuse. Even a moderate amount of exercise can be enough to cause Achilles tendinitis. Cyclists can avoid the problem of getting Achilles tendinitis by wearing comfortable shoes. Adjust your saddle and pedals suitable to your height. So you can cycle comfortably and do not put pressure on your leg. Please listen to your body
Conclusion
Achilles tendinitis is a common sport injury .This problem can be avoided by wearing comfort shoes, heel support pads. And controlling the intensity of exercising

Foot drop is a serious medical condition, how to fix it?
This is a kind of serious medical condition. Which is related to inability to raise the front part of the foot. It is not disease, it is a sign of underlying neurological, muscular or anatomical problems.
A person who has foot drop will have problems with walking. His foot will drag on the floor as he walks . Depending on the underlying reasons which causes this condition. The treatment sometimes can bring good results, the person can fully recover. But in some cases it remains as permanent. To be functionable. Wearing a brace in the ankle and foot to keep it in normal condition is a must be condition
In severe cases, doctors will direct an operation to save the function of the foot.
Symptoms
Foot drop make walking difficult, the person has to drag the foot on the ground. He has to try to lift up the his foot for the next walking step. It causes imbalance in gait when walking
Foot drop is usually diagnosed through physical exams by a doctor. Due to this serious condition many tests need to be done. Doctor will first check the movement ability, by asking the person to walk. And to see the ability of responding as well as the weakness and numbness of foot .
Diagnosis
X-rays usually are methods which doctor can see the image of bones, tumor, abnormal blood veins. As these causes can not see by normal eyes
Ultra sound: The sound wave technology can discover images of the internal structure of nerve, swelling point. That help to figure out where is the problem
CT scan is advance method combines many X-ray images taken from different angles, this allows the image diagnosis of foot clearer
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Radio waves and a strong magnetic field is used to create more detailed images. This method is special for detecting soft tissue that causes nerve compress.
Electromyography (EMG) this test is for detecting the damaged nerves
Foot drop is a serious condition. So diagnosis and method of treatment should only be done by a trusted doctor or foot specialist. Your doctor may prescribe exercises or physical therapies to improve your foot position and flexibility.
Causes
Foot drop can happen to any age. It can be a result of a severe sickness such as: polio fever, brain stroke, diabetic, after surgery hip or knee, multiple sclerosis ( MS),cerebral palsy, brain and spine disorder, Charcot-Marie. For whatever reasons, foot drop in these cases is caused by nerve damage. Bronchial nerve and endothelial are names of nerves that control moving and lifting function and of foot muscles. The injured muscles and tendons leading to the pain, numbness along the lower leg or the top of the foot.
Foot drop also can develop after a sports injury accident or long time bad habit of sitting. Especially with office ladies who cross one leg over other in many hours
This condition occurs in one leg or both legs for some people. Treatment will depend on the cause of the problem.
Treatments
Causes of foot drop, including neuromuscular diseases, nerve damage, spinal cord damage, and brain damage. Treatment will depend on the cause, and may include surgery, physiotherapy, and other treatments.
In might cases. Wearing braces or splints are useful methods of treatment. Braces over ankles and feet together with splints fit inside shoes can keep the foot in a normal, functional position.
Wearing Splints
Foot drop braces. Whether the condition of foot drop is temporary or permanent in nature. Wearing a foot brace will help the person back to normal gait.
Foot drop boot supports the foot and ankle. Because the front part of the foot is weak or paralysis. Wearing a boots will help to strengthen the force of foot, making walking become easier.
Wearing heel suspender
Physiotherapy exercising and stretching will strengthen the calf muscles and maintain range of motions in the knee and ankle. This can improve gait which is related to this problem
Massage help children with drop foot
Drop foot is a common childhood condition caused by a weakening of the muscles and tendons in the foot and ankle. Massage therapy can help improve the mobility, strength and flexibility of the muscles, tendons and ligaments in the foot and ankle, which can help improve the mobility of the joints and reduce the risk of foot injuries in later life. Your doctor may recommend massage therapy to improve the mobility of your feet and ankles, and help you recover from the impact of a fall or injury. Some people with drop foot may not experience any symptoms, but if you have had a recent injury or have a limp or a difficulty walking, your doctor may refer you to a specialist who can treat and manage your condition.
Sometimes, using nerve stimulation can improve the condition
Neurosurgery may help if the condition is new. But in the case of long- term. Doctor may recommend an ankle or metatarsal fusion surgery. Or a tendon transfer to attach the muscle to another part of the foot.
Conclusion

One of the most common foot deformities is hammer toes. Hammer toes occur when one or more of the toes are bent under or inwards, causing the toe to resemble a hammer. This affects the way the toe moves, often causing discomfort when walking or running.
They occur when there is an imbalance between the muscles, tendons, or ligaments that hold the big toe (called the toe extensor group) and the smaller toes (called the toe flexor group). The muscles, tendons, and ligaments that make up the toe extensor group are shorter than the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that make up the toe flexor group.
This imbalance causes the toe extensor group to overwork, causing the toes to become stiff and hard, sometimes resulting in small bumps or ridges on the sides of the toes. Hammer toes usually appear on second, third and fourth toes
This condition can be painful and may cause difficulty wearing certain types of shoes.
Causes of Hammer toes
Causes of hammer toes are various as following
Wearing too tight or too loose. The type of shoes you wear can contribute to hammer toes. Shoes that are too small or too tight can cause the toes to bend under or inwards, resulting in a hammer toe. Shoes that are too loose can allow the toes to spread apart, putting more strain on the toe joints and nerves.
Genetics play one important part of this foot deformity, hammer toes can also be hereditary. In other cases, some people born with abnormal shape of feet like high arch feet, flat feet. These abnormal bone structure more likely to develop this disease
Injury Hammer toes can also develop as a result of a trauma to the foot, such as a fracture or sprain. Many people develop them after a sports accident or injury to a ligament or tendon in their foot. Athletes who participate in sports such as dancing, football, kickbox ,running are at risk of developing hammer toes as a result of trauma to their foot.
Medical conditions
Some underlying health conditions like diabetic and arthritis are caused by hammertoes. Complications of these diseases can cause neuro-arthropathic with swollen, hot, red, strong pulse vein symptoms. You should contact your doctor to have a proper diagnosis and treatment for your specific case.
Symptoms
Hammer toes make walking become difficult. One toe or more toes bend in the middle part with bumps making stretching challenging. Symptoms can be different from might to severe.
Might symptoms can be one or more toes bent down with bumps. Moving toes and stretching is not easy
In severe cases it seriously affects daily life. Pain in the toes makes walking become difficult. In these cases you should contact your doctor to have proper care. X-rays to have a clear dialogs is and orthotic and surgery may be directed by your doctor.
Treatments
Wearing the right shoes can help reduce the symptoms of hammer toes and flexed toes. They should be roomy enough to accommodate your arches, but not too wide that your feet slide around in them. Your shoes should have a firm heel, a wide toe box, and a thick sole. Hammertoe pain is often caused by wearing shoes that don’t fit well or aren’t suitable for your foot type.
Hammer toe treatment may involve wearing a splint, insole or special shoes, and in some cases surgery is necessary.
Massaging your feet can help reduce the pain caused by hammer toes and other foot deformities. This is because foot massages can improve blood flow to the affected areas. Reduce swelling, and ease cramping and tension in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that affect the toes. Your healthcare provider can recommend the best foot massage techniques for you, depending on your specific condition. Massaging your feet can also help improve your circulation and range of motion. Which can help speed the healing process and reduce foot pain.
Ice therapy is a treatment to relieve the pain and discomfort caused by hammer toes. The goal of ice therapy is to numb the area around the affected toe to provide some relief. It is important to note that hammer toe is not the same thing as bunions, when the cause is too much toe motion. Ice therapy is only effective for hammer toes if the underlying cause is an imbalance between the muscles, tendons, or ligaments that keep the toes straight.
Cyclist and hammer toes
Cyclists and runners are at increased risk of developing a condition known as hammer toe. The most common symptom of hammer toe is a toe that curves or clicks, causing pressure on the big toe joint.
Hammer toe often develops when a cyclist or runner repeatedly stresses the same muscles, tendons, or ligaments while cycling or running. Over time, the tissues become unbalanced, causing the toe to become curved or enlarged.
Hammer toes can be avoided by wearing correct shoes, which fit properly to the foot. Shoes have wide enough toe box and arch support, heel cushions are most necessary to prevent this problem. Help toes have enough spaces to move and reduce stress on them
Conclusion
Hammer toes is a kind of injury caused by wearing unfit shoes or some other medical conditions. Treatment can be shoes changing, put insole, orthotics or surgery
Please contact to your doctor to have a correct diagnosis and best care for your foot health

Shin splints, how to get rid of ?

Shin splints are a common running injury caused by excessive strain on your shin bones and tissues that connect muscles to your bone in the front of the leg. If you feel the pain after running or an over workout day, you may get shin splints, a symptom which has another name as tibial stress syndrome. This occurs when a person who trains with high intensity, places too much pressure on the leg .
Causes of Shin splints
The two main types are bone shin splints and muscular shin pain.
Muscular shin pain occurs when there is excessive impact on the tibia or inner shin bone. This condition often occurs when the person stride too wide, run too fast and too long.
The injury caused by the person overuse his leg and put too much stress on shin bones, muscles and connective tissues on his lower leg. Athletes are more at the high risk of developing this syndrome because they tend to use their legs more often. However, shin splints are not a serious condition and it doesn’t last long. Resting, ice applying is good enough for recovery.
In some case if pain lasts longer than normal. You should ask your doctor to check your bone density and possible tibia fractures for a more clear diagnosis and advice
Symptoms
You will feel the persistent pain in your calf, centred mostly on the front of your leg along the tibia after running or over working out. This cause the discomfort for the tendons inside the front of your leg when they get inflammation
Starting runners and athletes who recover from injury are most susceptible to leg pain, as they are using the calf muscles more frequently than before.
Treatments
Muscular shin pain is easier to get treatment and recover quicker
The best way to help your body to recover from shin splints is to rest your legs. And you should not do training until you’re recovered. Choose comfortable footwear, and don’t try to do anything because it will take the time for recovery longer. Resting will help your legs relax, reduce pain and inflammation
Try to lose weight or at least do not put more weight on your body. Less weight, less pressure on bones. Give time for your leg to recover from painful syndrome.
A good massage can help to alleviate the pain and promote healing in the injured area. You can apply a good massage to the muscles in your lower leg to help to soften the muscles, and help to promote better blood circulation. You can do this by massaging the calf muscles, the Achilles tendon, and the top of the shin bone, near the muscles. This will help to alleviate the pain, and promote faster healing of the injured area.
Applying ice to the painful area may help to reduce the symptoms. Ice is an effective treatment for many injuries, and can help to reduce inflammation and pain. Pack some ice in a plastic bag and apply it to the painful area for 10 to 15 minutes every few hours. If the pain does not subside after the first few applications, see your doctor for more advice.
For bone Shin splints
Bone-related shin pain is another cause of shin splint. In this case, shin splints are caused by a small tear or fracture in the shinbone (shin splint fracture). You should contact with your doctor to check, have a proper diagnosis and treatment
Cyclists with Shin splints
People who do cycling also have the possibility to develop shin splints. To avoid this problem, you should wear comfortable shoes. Be sure adjust your saddle to suit your height to avoid the pressure on your legs.
Listen to your body and don’t overwork.
If you are dealing with shin splints, then you have probably heard of food for shin splints. There are many foods that can help with shin splints. But the most common ones are calcium and vitamin D. Calcium is used to build the bones and teeth, while vitamin D is used to help the body absorb calcium. Both of these can be found in dairy products, such as milk and cheese. It is also recommended that you eat fish, such as salmon, to get the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids, which are thought to help with shin splints.
Food for shin splints can help reduce the pain and inflammation associated with shin splints. Try to avoid putting too much pressure on your legs when you are going up stairs or when you are standing up for long periods of time. Instead, try using your legs more when you are sitting or lying down. This will help your muscles to heal and reduce the pain.
Conclusion
Pain and inflammation fromShin splints can lessen and go away after giving a few days of resting and applying some method as massage and ice.
Incase it doesn’t get better and pain becomes more extreme. Please contact your doctor for better support.

The bunions, medically known as Hallux Abductor Valgus (HAV), is a painful deformity of the joint between the big toe and the first metatarsal bone of the foot. Where the long bone (metatarsal) points inward, creating a bump inside the big toe. This bump is known as a bunion.
Bunions are a condition in which the big toe becomes hard and misshapen due to calcium buildup. Pain, swelling, and deformity of the foot can occur due to a bunion.
If do not have proper treatment, bunions can not go away on their own and cause difficulties and significantly reduce life quality.
Causes of Bunions
There are some reasons considered as causes of this problem. Which include external and medical condition causes.
People who wear high heels, un-fitting or low quality shoes for a long period of time are at the highest risk of getting bunions. Mostly, shoes that are too tight, don’t support arches of the feet and toes can not move freely are main cause of problem
Shoes that are too narrow can put undue stress on the tiny ligaments that connect foot bones together, causing them to become hypermobile. This leads the first metatarsal bone to move out of place, and causes bunions
Genetics which run in families can also be reason of bunion
Bunions can be related with certain types of arthritis, particularly inflammatory types, such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Symptoms
Symptoms often develop gradually and are often described as aching, swelling and tenderness near the big toe joint.
Red, bulging bumps on the outside of the base of your big toe are the most outstanding features of this condition,
Pain can range from a dull ache to sharp, stabbing pain, and can result in a burning or cramping sensation. Sometimes the person with bunions can feel severe pain at the joint of the foot, especially towards the end of the day. Bunions can cause the joints to feel stiff and achy, which can be painful when you stand up.
Treatment
Wearing the correct toes -separator
Wearing the socks with toe separation
Wearing the right shoes: is the best way to get relief from pain and support your feet.
In severe cases, wearing shoes that are specifically designed to help treat bunions are necessary.
Added with wearing a night splint to keep the foot in the proper position,
Because a bunion brace will gently realign the joints of the foot, and support it function normally again.
Massaging the painful part of the foot can help to provide temporary relief from the symptoms of a bunion. Gently massage the foot in the evening, and again in the morning, prior to putting on the shoes of the day can reduce significantly pain . A foot massage therapist can recommend the best way to massage for getting relief from pain and inflammation.
Massaging the painful bunion can help to decrease stiffness and improve blood flow to the area.
Ice therapy is a common treatment for painful bunions. The cold numbs the area, which can reduce the pain and help to improve your gait and range of motion. This treatment is also helpful for other foot conditions, such as plantar fasciitis. Apply a bag of ice to your foot for 20 minutes at a time, three times a day.
Cyclist with bunions
Cyclists with bunions often ride with pain, because their feet are the most important part connect with their bike. And their feet also absorb most of the vibrations from the road, which can lead to more pain and even more riding disruptions. Then choosing a comfortable shoes with wide toe box, bunions supports, heel cushions are the must be condition for a qualified riding.
You should consider to buy a built-in bunion shoes or bunion cushions to protect toe against shoe pressure and friction
Treatment for medical condition
You can apply these above treatment suggestions to get temporary relief from pain. However, you should contact with your doctor to have correct treatment for your specific case which concern with your arthritis.

Flat feet is a medical condition which many people suffer from. For some people, this condition happens in a short period of time but others can suffer it many years. If they don’t find the solution to improve the symptoms
What are flat feet?
Flat feet, also called flat arches, are a condition in which the middle of your foot is very flat. This means that there isn’t an arch in the middle of your foot, which is necessary for normal foot motion.
Having flat feet can make it difficult to run and play sports and even walking. As the condition makes it harder to push off and run. And the foot can get injured very easily if it’s not properly supported. And this can cause problems for anyone, regardless of their sport.
Causes
Many people born with flat feet, genetic factors play the game to make their feet remain always in a baby shape . Means they have feet without arches. But mostly, people develop this condition later on in their life.
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues including: weak bones, injuries, poor footwear, obesity, or poor circulation. Flattened arches can end up under your arch when you step, and can also cause pain, inflammation and plantar fasciitis.
Flattening of the foot can be caused by some of the other factors, such as ageing, arthritis.
Many research suggests that the causes of flat feet are related to both biomechanical, and genetic factors. The biomechanical factors include: how well the foot is supported, the size of the bone in the foot, the shape of the foot, and how well the foot is supported. While genetic factors are also related
Symptoms
People with flat feet often have pain in their feet, especially when standing or walking on hard surfaces.
While standing barefoot on a hard surface, the weight of your body will compress the bones in the foot. This puts pressure on the nerves, which can lead to a condition called ‘metatarsalgia’. If your foot is flat, then walking on a hard surface while barefoot can cause pain in your toes.
Another reason of flat feet is wearing shoes that have a flat heel causing the stiffness. Feet like to be locked inside with a poor air circulation.
Treatment
The first line of treatment for flat feet is to support the foot as best as possible by finding a good pair of shoes
Using shoes insole support
Many people with flat feet wear a shoe insert in their regular shoes, or have a custom orthotic made. This supports the middle of the foot and helps to distribute pressure evenly across the foot. Wearing shoes with a supportive arch can also help to relieve the symptoms
There are many types of insoles to prevent or correct flat feet. Some are custom made to fit the size, shape and individual needs of your feet. The most common are: arch supports, heel cups, and wedges.
Do a good massage for your feet
One effective way to help relieve pain in your feet is to massage them. Massaging the arches of your feet can help to relieve pain in your arches. And massaging the outer sides of your feet can help to relieve pain in the ball of your foot. You can also try massaging the bottom of your feet, the ball of your foot, and the arches of your feet.
Food for Flat feet
One effective treatment for flat feet is to eat a healthy diet. The main minerals that our body needs for good foot health are calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D. Normally ,we get enough calcium and vitamin D in our diet, but we do not get enough phosphorus. Phosphorus is important for strong bones and good foot health. Food sources of phosphorus include: dairy products, meat, fish and eggs.
Food is important for healthy feet, but if you have flat feet, you should avoid foods that are high in starch, such as potatoes, rice, and bread. Instead, eat foods that are high in moisture, such as fruits and vegetables.
